East Side Road Trip 5 Day
We used to call this the East Side Ski Safari. This is a super fun pre-spring trip when the snow is low, near the road with easy access to the "Road side attractions". We'll pack up, Mike Schwartz's The BackCountry van with car camping gear inside and skis on top. Departing from Truckee, we can make a stop at Reno Airport to pick anyone up if needed and will head south on Hwy 395. First stop is June Lake, with access to the area around Carson Peak, then Mammoth Crest, Convict Lake over Conway Summit, to the Bishop area with ski descents to choose from.
This 5-day classic road trip will ski the best of the best with great car camping low, then climbing high for the amazing ski descents. We will hit the best hot springs, eat the best burritos and drink the best coffee on the East Side along the way. Advanced/Expert skiing with Excellent Physical condition ready for the 4,000 ft. plus days with skiing up to 40°.
