East Side Winter Ski Descents 2 Day
On Hwy 395 between Mammoth Mountain and Tom’s Place are a string of easily accessible “road-side attractions” that are great to approach with the low snowline during early season. They present great day-route projects with long climbs and ski descents. Our special condo in Mammoth makes a great base for two days of wonderful ski mountaineering during powder season.
This program has a similar feel to the skiing we used to do from the old ASI Lodge on top of Donner Pass. It's fun and easy, just arrive anytime on friday evening. Come in by headlamp, plop your pad and sleeping bag and we'll see you while breakfast is cooking the next morning. After skiing, back at the condo, we'll enjoy story swapping of our day along with the traditional pasta/salad feed. Sunday after breakfast, we're off for another great tour.
This is a great opportunity to get in that one winter trip to the East Side for spectacular High Sierra scenery and great winter skiing along with the fun and camaraderie from our comfortable lodging.
Typical Itinerary:
Saturday - Little Morrison, Convict Lake. A spectacular moderate tour with great views and an incredible ski descent.
Sunday - Mt. McGee. This is a great 3,200' climb and descent off Hwy 395.

Cost: $425
